Have Barbecue Feed
The Los Banos Rotary Club
departed from custom Tuesday and held an evening meeting at the city fire house.
L. G. Sandell was general chairman of the affair, with Supervisor J. L. Toscano
supervising at the barbecue pit, where large juicy steaks were broiled over the
open fire. Joe R. Coelho, the town’s most famed dinner chef, prepared the
large pot of Spanish Beans that are an essential part of any barbecue dinner.
The dinner was completely informal as President Charlie Kaljian found
the mood of the group entirely too boisterous and jovial to permit anything of
serious nature. He did succeed, however, in enriching the club’s charity
fund to the extent of about $25.
