| Los
Banos Rotary Club History The Los Banos
Rotary Club has a long and fairly well documented history. The
Rotary Club of Los Banos was organized on June 11, 1940 by a group of citizens
known as the Cosmic Club. Today, the Los Banos Rotary (Club 585) continues to
support and serve not only our local community, but regional and international
Rotary Projects as well.
Thanks to being given
permission to re-print many articles from the Los Banos Enterprise, (where most
of the stories below were originally first published), we can provide you with
insight not only to the history of our local club, but indeed to the history of
Los Banos itself! We would like to extend our
heartfelt appreciation to the Los
Banos Enterprise for allowing us to republish most of the stories linked below.
We would like to especially thank Amy Yancey
for all of her hard work in typing and transcribing the text of the documents
that appear below from the archives of the Los Banos Enterprise. This
section is a work in progress, we are still looking at the possibility of transcribing
even more pages from the newspaper to flesh this section out.
