Kiddies' Christmas Party A Success

The Kiddies' Christmas Party last Friday at the Del Rio Theatre was an unqualified success, if you judge by the happy grins on the faces of the more than 1300 children from the Los Banos, Volta and Charleston schools, who attended the affair.

Two showings of a variety film program were shown at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Cartoons and short comedies made up the bill. After each show the kiddies were treated to a round of treats distributed by Santa Claus.
In addition to the free use of the theatre by the owners, the party was sponsored by the local Lions and Rotary Clubs in cooperation with the Fresno Bee, which furnished the films.

Lions and Rotarians on the party committee included Joel Whitehurst, Ed Enos, J. J. Silva, Paul Toscano and Ernest Petrocelli.

Parents of the children surely owe a vote of thanks to these big-hearted and civic minded sponsors of this special introduction to the Christmas season.
