Rotarians Enjoy Play Day
Rotarians, at their luncheon Tuesday noon, finished the old year with an hour of relaxation, song and fun, under the able leadership of program chairman George Nickel Jr. He also did a good job of replenishing the club treasury as he wielded the gavel with reckless abandon in the extraction of greenbacks from hapless brethren.
Only bit of seriousness injected into the merriment was a short talk by Judge Germino, who by special request related his impressions and experiences while recently serving as a superior court judge in Los Angeles. Germino said the court calendar in Los Angeles is hopelessly crowded, with some cases being delayed for as much as two years before coming up for hearing. This condition, he said, would eventually be relieved, with the appointment of 25 additional superior court judges to the area soon after the first of the year.
