Rotary Adds Voice in Plea For Water

The Los Banos Rotary Club, in a special letter to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, this week added its voice to that of numerous other local organizations which are protesting the Bureau's new edict that it no longer cares to assist the local farming area by holding back, at Friant Dam, irrigation water that might possibly be saved now for use later in the season.
The letter stressed the fact that the Bureau, in adopting this new, indifferent attitude of non-cooperation, is reversing its own record of previous years-and at a time when the local area is facing one of the most critical water shortage years in history.
