See Color Slides Of War Areas

Alvaro Souza, proprietor of the Agricultural Minerals and Fertilizer Co. of this city, provided members of the local Rotary Club with an unusual and interesting program Tuesday noon, as he showed a personal collection of kodochrome slides which he took during the recent war while serving with the Air Force in Europe. The scenes were mostly taken in France and Germany and showed the extensive destruction in the larger cities as well as peaceful pastoral scenes in the rural areas. Souza accompanied the showing with a running explanatory narrative and afterward answered numerous questions from club members.

Walter Fuller, local Boy Scout neighborhood commissioner, was a guest at the luncheon and officially presented club president R. Lindemann with the new Scout Troop 85 charter. This troop is sponsored by the Rotary Club. Fuller was introduced by Ralph Brownscombe, sponsor committeeman.
President Lindemann announced that arrangements have been completed with the Lions Club for the annual softball game and get-together, to be held Tuesday evening, July 13.
