Tommy Kaljian Is A Star Scout

Tommy Kaljian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kaljian of this city and freshman student in the local high school, was officially presented with the badge of a Star Scout in a fitting ceremony at the Rotary Club luncheon Tuesday noon. The Rotary Club is sponsor of Troop 85, of which Tommy is a member.
The presentation was made by Frank Orr, club representative to the troop. Praising Kaljian for his work and effort put forth not only in Scouting itself but in all troop activities, Orr said that Kaljian will soon qualify for Scouting's highest award – the badge of an Eagle Scout.

In the presentation Tuesday, Orr also presented Tommy with five merit badges, signifying special training and proficiency in swimming and lifesaving, leathercraft, first aid, home repairs, mechanical drawing, and fishing.
