Lions Prepare for Rotary Dinner

Plans for the joint Lions-Rotary dinner meeting received major attention at the monthly business meeting of the Lions Club Tuesday evening. The dinner is the “pay off” on a recent softball game between the two clubs in which the Rotarians were declared victorious. The dinner will be held at the Fire Department club rooms Tuesday evening, July 30, Joe Ebner heads the Lions Club work committee in charge of the affair.

The Lions also discussed, at considerable length, the two proposals under discussion by the newly organized civic coordinating group—parking meters and re-naming of “I” street. The membership favored installation of parking meters by a 7 to 1 majority, the vote being 35 in favor to five against. For renaming of “I” street the vote was unanimously in favor.
