Pink Flamingo Ransom
In
order to raise money for polio eradication, members of the Interact Club initiated
the pink flamingo ransom idea that they learned at their district conference.
The money raising project involves placing pink flamingos in the front yards of
Rotarians and asking them to pay to have them removed. There are two flocks of
flamingos “flying” around town and Rotarians can have them removed
for $25; moved to another Rotarian’s home for $30; or moved to another Rotarian’s
home and never have them return for $35.
